Traffic Law FAQs
Why should I hire an attorney for my ticket?
Traffic tickets or citations can result in points for moving violations on your driving record. These points may cause your insurance rates to increase. An attorney may have your charge amended to a non-moving or lesser violation.
Do I have to appear in court?
Hiring an attorney can prevent you from having to come to court in many cases.
Can you guarantee that my ticket will be reduced?
Each case is unique and therefore individual results cannot get “lumped together” in general terms. Your personal circumstances will be evaluated during a telephone or personal consultation. Based on your charge(s) and facts, we will discuss possible reductions, court costs, attorney fees and license points.
Is there a free consultation?
Yes consultations are free. The consultations can be in person, over the phone, or by email.
Will I get points on my driving record?
In many cases, charges may be reduced and moving violation points can be avoided. Reductions and the points associated with them will be discussed during your consultation.
How can I retain you to represent me?
We will need your ticket/citation that the officer gave to you. You can mail, email, or drop off the ticket at our Greenville or Washington offices.
How can I pay you to represent me?
You may pay:
- Through our online payment option.
- By coming into the office.
- By mailing a check or money order to our Rocky Mount office.
- credit payments are accepted.
How will I find out the final result?
Once the charge has been reduced and the monies paid to the court, our office will write you a letter detailing the final results and associated costs. This letter will be mailed to the address on the ticket unless you request otherwise.
How much is the fine and court cost for my case?
The most frequent fine and costs assessed range from $161.00 to $210.00, however prices may differ depending on your individual circumstances and County.
